Dear Mr. Gropius,
I’m sure
it was a wonderful idea to create such an ordered space where each and every
one of us living there can rent a `compartment´, furnish it and call it
there own.
The blocks divided by areas of green, where we can escape the otherwise urban
landscape around us, nice! We can also shop in the communal shopping centers.
Ordered, order, ordered. Infact and unfortunately your Gropiusstadt reminded
me of the New Towns where I grew up in England, Stevenage, Harlow and Welyn
Garden City. I’m sure your plans inspired them and not vice versa. However
I can’t live in either your or any of these other paradises I’ve
mentioned, I’d rather kill myself.
Yours truly,
Peter Farkas
