During my weeklong stay on the 15th floor of the tower block in Gropiusstadt, I came across quite a few elderly ladies checking their mailboxes at the entrance of the building. Some had come down all the way from their flats just to check their mails with an air of expectancy. It seemed to be a part of their daily routine. I remember thinking that there must be nothing more disappointing than an empty mailbox. I hope to be back in Gropiusstadt to do some sort of mail-art for all the residents of the block but especially for those who can't stand to see an empty mailbox.
